The Indiana Department of Education is recognizing all Indiana teachers as the 2021 Teacher of the Year.
Typically, one educator is selected as the Teacher of the Year. However, State Superintendent Jennifer McCormick wants to recognize all teachers for their hard work and adaptability in transitioning to remote learning with no advance warning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Teachers across our state have displayed a level of flexibility and commitment, underscoring the fact Hoosiers really are #INthisTogether,” McCormick said in a statement on Tuesday.
IDOT has been selecting a Teacher of the Year for more than 60 years with a goal of inspiring and celebrating the teaching profession.
